Training for 48 volunteer leaders and coaches of the Open Fun Football Schools project in Moldova

From 10 to 14 August 2020, 48 volunteer leaders and coaches from the Open Fun Football Schools in Moldova participated in two seminars, organised in cooperation with the Moldovan Football Federation, Cross Cultures, General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova and Terre des hommes Moldova.

Child protection expert Celia Brackenridge says UK sport was beset by a culture of ignorance and denial until the 1990s but it now sets the gold standard. In a neatly maintained archive of papers held in the library at Brunel University, the pioneering campaigner for action to prevent sexual abuse in sport Prof Celia Brackenridge compiled a catalogue of horrific cases that came to court in the 1990s. Included in the files is a note on the Channel 4 Dispatches programme that in 1997 exposed several instances of abuse in football.

[Moldova] All Children Must Feel Safe and Protected in Sports

Terre des hommes Moldova provided training on child protection systems and safeguarding policy in sports during a seminar for teachers, leaders, and coaches under the ‘Open Fun Football Schools’ (OFFS) project and ‘Sport - School – Police’ (SSP) project, organized by the Moldovan Football Federation and the General Police Inspectorate, between 31 July and 4 August 2019.
