Training for 48 volunteer leaders and coaches of the Open Fun Football Schools project in Moldova

Open Fun Football Schools Moldova

From 10 to 14 August 2020, 48 volunteer leaders and coaches from the Open Fun Football Schools in Moldova participated in two seminars, organised in cooperation with the Moldovan Football Federation, Cross Cultures, General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova and Terre des hommes Moldova.

The Open Fun Football School (OFFS) programme aims to create a sense of togetherness and bring joy and fun, while at the same time to develop life skills in children and youth. OFFS will continue its activities in a responsible and appropriate way, taking the necessary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

During the seminars, the participants have learned the theoretical and practical aspects of the special programme Sport + School + Police (SSP). The aim of SSP is to consolidate joint efforts to promote cross-sector collaboration between the school, sport, and police actors to ensure safeguarding of children in football.

The collaboration between the Moldovan Football Federation, Cross Cultures, Terre des hommes Moldova and the Police takes a new step to advance social responsibility in football in Moldova, with a focus on safeguarding children in sports through training of coaches and the participatory development of a child safeguarding policy and of codes of conduct.

The CCPA / OFFS project has been implemented in Moldova by the non-governmental organisation CCPA from Denmark and Football Association since 2006, and is also supported by the Government of Sweden.
