World Children's Day is a global day of action dedicated to advocating for children's rights and amplifying their voices. Celebrated annually on the 20th of November, this day aims to raise awareness about the challenges children face and promote initiatives that ensure their well-being and development.
As part of its ongoing commitment to child safeguarding, UEFA is taking the opportunity to celebrate this significant anniversary together with Child and Youth Protection Officers from all European Football Associations. This celebration highlights the importance of protecting young athletes in football and ensuring they grow up in a safe and supportive environment.
Together with long-standing partner, Terre des hommes, UEFA is retracing the milestones of its child safeguarding journey, from its inception to the crucial role the Child and Youth Protection Policy and dedicated officers play today in UEFA's Sustainability Strategy, "Strength through Unity" 2030. Child protection can only truly be successful if everyone takes action and actively considers the well-being and safety of children and young people.
Child protection can only be truly successful if everyone takes action and actively considers the well-being and safety of children and young people. This includes coaches, parents, staff and volunteers, and the wider community, all working together to create an environment where children can thrive.
By celebrating World Children's Day and reinforcing its commitment to child safeguarding, UEFA aims to further inspire and support its member associations to prioritize this area of work and take all necessary steps to ensure that football is a positive and enriching experience for all young athletes.
