Video: how can sport safeguard children? [NSPCC]

This animation has been produced to help anyone involved in delivering sport or activities to children and young people.

It shows the difference between child protection and safeguarding in a sports setting and looks in more depth at how children and young people can be further protected beyond their time at training sessions.

We take a closer look at contextual safeguarding and how, by looking at where young people practice skills in their spare time, how they travel to practice or where they go afterwards, we can help to make them even safer.

The Romanian Football Federation launches their e-learning platform for the development of sports and safeguarding

The Romanian Football Federation launched this April the National Football Academy (NFA), which aims to become the most significant provider of educational programs in sports in Romania. The Academy plans to build capacity through specialised education and thereby to contribute to the professionalization of sports specialists. In doing so, NFA aims to contribute to the development of sports organizations generally as well supporting the sustainable development of football in Romania.

Video: Keeping children safe in sports [Terre des hommes]

"Children need us to keep them safe while they do sports" - this is the message of the campaign carried out by Terre des hommes in Romania, within the European project Keeping Children Safe in Sports.

Terre des hommes, together with its partners - the Romanian Football Federation and the Romanian Gymnastics Federation - and with the official support of the National Authority for the Protection of the Rights of the Child and Adoption (Romania) aims to improve the standards on child protection in sport.

Child safeguarding in football program [Royal Belgian Football Association]

Safeguarding of children should be high on the agenda of every organisation that works with children. 

The Royal Belgian Football association (RBFA), the regional federations Voetbal Vlaanderen and ACFF and the Pro League, the organisation of professional football, are aware of their important role to safeguard children who play football regardless of their level (amateur/elite).

Webinar recording: Overview of child safeguarding in sport in Ireland from national to grass roots level
